The Discharge Curve: LiPo's ARE NOT like other batteries. The voltage, while under load, is non-linear, and tends to fall off more rapidly as it nears the end of its charge cycle. Flying by ‘timing’ the flight can lead to battery damage. A Low Voltage Cut-off set point in the ESC can false trigger and is difficult to optimize. Don’t fly blind. Know exactly where you are in the Discharge Curve. 7 color modes include Blue/Cyan/- Good, Green/Yellow/Orange- Warn and Red for Low condition. The device also detects when the load pulse is too severe: a Magenta color indicates a possible Overload condition. Warn condition indicates approximately 80-85% discharge.

Pulse Level Detection: Depending on the load, a LiPo battery pack voltage may pulse (PWM) as much as 15-25% below DC levels! The TC Dynamics LiPo Battery Monitor features a unique In-Flight representation of the changing Pulse Depth under various load/discharge conditions. The PLD feature can also indicate an OVERLOAD condition. Important: sustained voltage below 2.8v/cell may damage a LiPo pack.
